What is an XBM File?
The XBM file stores monochrome cursor and icon bitmap images in a plain text binary imaging format used by the X Windows System (X11). Since the text file is written in the C programming language, it is compiled by a C compiler as well, and not an image program.
However, since this is an old format, the XBM format has been superseded by the XPM format.
