What is a VB File?

A .VB file is part of a larger project which contains object-oriented code written in the Visual Basic language, which is to be used with .NET and .NET Framework. The content inside a .VB file is in ASCII text format.

Visual Basic was developed by Microsoft and implemented on the .NET Framework (VB.NET). Apps built on the .NET platform, such as web applications and XML web services, are developed using the VB.NET programming language. Only “.VB” is now used by Microsoft Visual Studio since Microsoft dropped the “.NET” in the name in 2005.
