What is an IMA File?
An IMA file stores 4-bit audio content and is compressed using the Interactive Media Association’s (IMA) Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation (ADPCM) compression algorithm. Unlike the .MP3 and .WAV formats, IMA files lack an identifying header that specifies the file’s attributes and content. As a result, the majority of media players are unable to play IMA files.
